He is a Native American Indian of the Tule River Reservation, and the first of ten children born to John and Clara (Paredes) Peyron on May 12, 1921 in Fresno, California.
A highly decorated veteran and Bronze Star Recipient, he served honorably in the US Army for 20 years. He retired at Fort Ord, California and lived in Monterey for 42 years. After retirement, with his beloved wife Isabella, they started a series of successful small businesses and operated them for 20 years.
After retirement from his business, John and Isabella retired to the community of Diamond Springs, California, John enjoyed fishing, visiting Indian Casinos, but most of all be enjoyed his loving family, He will be truly missed.
John is survived by his spouse of 54 years Isabella Peyron, daughters Frances Rainwater, husband Larry, Chester, CA and Gabriela Grargus, husband Joseph, Placerville, CA, granddaughter Heidi Rainwater, Chico, CA and grandson Colby Rainwater, Fresno, CA, brothers Charlie Peyron, Porterville, CA, Tom Peyron, San Diego, CA and Gene Peyron of California, sisters Dada Andrade, Porterville and Helen Beham, Louisiana. John was preceded in passing by his brothers Alvin, Ernie, and sisters Sarah and Linda.
Friends are welcome for visitation on Wednesday, July 14 beginning at 9AM followed by a funeral service at 10AM at Green Valley Mortuary, Green Valley & Bass Lake Roads, Cameron Park. Interment, Green Valley Cemetery. Published in The Monterey Herald on July 13, 2004
