OBITUARY:

Alonzo Jason Weaver, 83, of 755 Lynmore Ave., Macon, Georgia, died Sunday, July 1, 1984, at his residence. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dr. George Palmer and the Rev. John Cleveland Spivey will officiate. Mr. Weaver, a native of Hill County, Texas, had lived in Macon for 27 years. He was a World War 1 veteran and received the Congressional Silver Lifesaving Medal for Heroism. He was a retired civil service worker from the Navel Air Training Station at Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a paint contractor and a member of the Gold Star Fathers and Mikado Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lenora Greenway Weaver of Macon, two daughters, Carol Sue (Weaver)Patterson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Peggy Ann (Weaver) Oberholtzer of Antioch, California: five sons, Alonzo Jason Weaver II, Of Macon, Don Henry Weaver of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Robert Lee Weaver of Stockton, California, the Rev. John Cleveland Spivey of Port Wentworth, and Harold M. Spivey of Atlanta, Georgia: a sister, Lois Martin of Texas: a brother W.T. Martin of Texas and eight grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers: the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Central Georgia, 2009 Vieville Ave., Macon. The family will be at 775 Lynmore Ave. Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
