Henry Garten, 31 was the son of Sabin and Emma Garten. He married Cornelia (Neelie) Decker July 29, 1899 in Winchester, Massachusetts. At the time of their marriage he was employed as a shoemaker. They were both living in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He was survived by his wife, Nealie, an adopted son, his mother, Emma, and several brothers and sisters. His brother was with him at the time of the accident.
(The Garten name is also spelled Gartin, the spelling used originally on his draft registration.)
