Mrs. Harter, widow of Roscoe M. Harter Sr., died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998. Born in Hampton, she was a daughter of the late Shelly and Marion Groom Crosby. Formerly of Hampton, she had been a local resident for over 50 years. She was a member of State Street Baptist Church and the Cayce Eastern Star. She was retired from Recco Tape and Lable Company.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Murray and Nydia Harter of Cayce; sisters, Mary Ann Priester of Florence, Bridie Fleck of Houston, Emma Gass of Houston, Veda Bennett of Panama City, Fla., Louise McRae of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Leon Crosby of Hampton; grandchildren, Michelle, Trey and Matthew Harter.
