Funeral services for Mr. Hugh Tom Barnes, 73, were held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. James Fee. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Barnes, a retired employee of Blue Ridge Shift Manufacturing Co., died Tuesday in Saint Thomas Hospital, Nashville, after a short illness. A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late James A. and Julia Sullivan Barnes. He was a member of the Swan Creek Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cleo Minatree Barnes; one daughter, Mrs. O. S. Allen of Fayetteville; one sister, Miss Sally Minatree of Lincoln County; three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
