Mrs. Nannie Harris Evans died on Tuesday, October 20, 1948 at her home on Brick Church Road. A teacher in the Davidson County schools, she had been in failing health for four or five years. She was a graduate of Peabody College and was active with the Eastern Star, the Three Score and Ten Club, and the Methodist church.
Born in Una, Tennessee to the late T.A. and Eliza Harris, she moved to Nashville at an early age. She was preceded in death by her husband D.B. Harris. She is survived by daughter Mrs. C.L. Duke of Nashville; brothers Albert R. Harris of Glendale, CA, and B.F. Harris of Nashville; and by grandson Oliver Lee Duke of Nashville.
