RITES SET FOR WAR I VETERAN
Crystal Lake - Military funeral services for Clyde Riherd will be conducted by the local post of the American Legion Thursday. The service will be held at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Gerhardt Hjelmaas, local pastor and the Rev. B. A. Rust, pastor of the Baptist church at Britt, officiating.
Clyde Riherd, World War I veteran, died at his farm home Sunday night from a cerebral hemorrhage, after being ill only a couple of weeks. He was born Aug. 2, 1894, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Riherd. He was married to Edna Fanning Aug. 2, 1919, at Nemaha. To this union were born 5 children. Mrs. Riherd died Sept. 12, 1931. A year old daughter, Barbara Jean, died about a year later. On Aug. 31, 1937 he was married to Alma Oshschlauger at Tompkinsville, KY
Mr. Riherd has farmed here since 1931. he has been a member of the Crystal Lake Consolidated
school board and a member of the American Legion. Besides his widow, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Eugene C. Wilber, Jerome, Idaho; 3 sons, Wayne Riherd, Jackson, Nebr.; Wendel Riherd, Forect City, and Thomas Riherd, Crystal Lake. There are 9 grandchildren. His aged mother, lives in Kentucky.
Burial will be in the Crystal cemetery. The Boughton funeral home is in charge.
