Ann (Dolly) Martin, 80, of Mayfield, passed away Tuesday, January 22nd, while in the company of family members, at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. She was the widow of Thomas F. Martin. who died June 3, 1992. Ann was born in Mayfield, PA on November 11, 1932, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Sweda) Demchak. She was a member of St. John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield. She was a graduate of Mayfield High School, Class of 1950. She was the Tax Collector for Mayfield Borough. She was very active in local politics, serving as the Democratic Chairwoman for Mayfield. She was honored as Northeast PA Woman by the Scranton Times. She was a 20 year cancer survivor and was devoted to St. Ann and was a faithful participant in the annual Novena. Her family was the most important thing in her life, she loved and helped raise her grand-children and great-grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Martin and Bill. She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. The funeral will be Friday with Requiem Services at St. John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield at 9:30 AM. Interment in St. John's R.O. Cemetery Mayfield, PA. Friends may call Thursday 4-8 PM. at Ryczak-Harrison Funeral Home Inc. 901 Lackawanna Ave, Mayfield. Parastas will be held at 7:30 PM and transfer to the church at 8 PM.
