He was a 70 year old native of Foraker, son of the late Chester and Helen Carpenter Carty, a retired construction worker, and a member of the Christian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Chester Lee Carty of Means, 2 daughters, Lovetta Cross and Kasey Smith, both of Mt. Sterling, 2 grandhildren, Trevor and Jordyn, 3 sisters, Anna Mae Yarber and Maxzine Carty, both of Means, and Ilene Carty of Saylersville, and 7 brothers, Charles (Velva) Carty and J.D. (Brenda) Carty, both of Frenchburg, Dona C. (Janet) Carty of Columbus, Georgia, Adrian (Tressa) Carty of Paris, Lester Carty of Mt. Sterling, James Carty of Means, and Darrel (Minnie) Carty of Wapakoeta, Ohio. His funeral will be 2:00 Tuesday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Williams Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9:00 Monday
