Georgetown:

Lillian Elphick Moore, 86, widow of Henry Singleton Moore, III., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Tidelands Community Hospice surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Moore was born on March 13, 1926 in Sydney, Australia, a daughter of the late William George Elphick and Ellen Bolton Elphick. During World War II, Lillian, a war bride, met her husband of 59 years while he was stationed in her home country of Australia as a stevedore in the U. S. Navy. She left her native country to come to America to begin the next journey in her life. From their union, they were blessed with three beautiful children.
In 1956, Lillian went to work for Georgetown Hospital in the Dietary department. She remained working for the hospital for approximately 47 years before her final retirement. She loved her work and she loved the people she worked with and getting to know and serve so many wonderful people from the community on a daily basis.
After living here in the states for 63 years, Lillian took the oath to become a United States citizen. This was a very proud day for her and her family.
She was a communicant of St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and lector for many years. Also, she was a member of the Catholic Women's Club and the "Knitwhits – Prayer Shawl Ministry Team" that met weekly. Their shawls were made to bring comfort and solace to those who were in need.
Survivors include: two sons, Henry S. Moore, IV (Cherrin) of Georgetown and Michael S. Moore (Serina) of Wetumpka, Ala.; a daughter, Deborah M. Lambert (Tony) of Batesburg-Leesville; 14 grandchildren, Melissa Walker (Chris), Catherine Wilson (David), Mandy Moore, and Jonathan P. Moore, all of Georgetown, Michael S. Moore, Jr., Beth Moore, Derrick S. Moore, Shawn S. Moore, Paul A. Moore, Autumn K. Moore, and Abby Moore, all of Wetumpka, Ala., and SSgt. Tony Lambert, Jr., USAF. Laura L. Richards, and Christopher Lambert, all of Batesburg-Leesville; along with 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Roy Elphick, Ernie Elphick, and Arthur Elphick, and one sister, Dolly Hall, all of whom were of Sydney, Australia; two grandsons, Henry S. Moore, V and Matthew Moore; and one granddaughter, Brittany J. Moore.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at two o'clock on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
