MY BEST FRIEND

Carol Washburn was born on Sept 23,1945 to Ivan Ross and Rhoda Thompson Washburn in Murray, Utah.

Carol attended Draper Elementery and Mount Jordan Jr High School.

She died in a Salt Lake City hospital on April 4, 1958 from double pnemonia.

Carol was survived by parents, four brothers, Lewis, Jay, Dale, all of Draper. Hugh U.S. Army. sisters Lois (Mrs Andrew Ballard)of Draper: Klea ( Mrs Waldon Bowers)of Woodland and Judy of Draper. Grandparents Mr and Mrs H.A. Thompson, Basalt, Idaho

Funeral 10 AM Draper 2nd Ward Chapel. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Friends call at 8090 So State Sunday 6-8. Monday at family residence prior to services. Burial Draper Cemetery.

Carol and I were best of friends. We did everything together. Back in our time you had to make up fun things to do. Oh and there were fun things to do. Story book dolls, paper dolls, playing in the cow field and making huts and special places in the sheds and trees. Having Hot dog roasts by the creek. And sitting and hanging our feet over the creek on the bridge.

Do you remember the day you fell in and my brother Doug jumped in and pulled you out?

Our special Easter Day hike we took and I took all those crazy pictures of you. I am glad that I did that, as now I can reminise with your little sister about all of it.

I remember when we wanted to go to the show and we had to go back and forth between your Mom and Dad to say it was alright to go to the show with me. It became almost a joke. It took us so long to get permission, because neither one of them wanted to be the one that said yes. But I was like your big sister and I always got you to the show and back home safely. What wonderful memories I have of our wonderful friendship.

Then when you were 12 you died with double pnemonia. What a shock. I had lost the best friend I ever had. I still visit your grave and put flowers on several times a year.
We still get to talk, but it is just not the same. I really miss you Carol.

REST IN PEACE MY DEAR SWEET FREIND.
