Elizabeth (Lizzie) was the eighth of thirteen children born to Johnathan Collier Novinger, Jr. and Catherine Hoffman. She was born in Pennsylvania 18 Apr 1847.

On 1 Dec 1872 she and Joseph Jackson Gregory were married in Kosciusko County, Indiana. The family stays in Indiana until about 1878 when they move and live for about 10 years in Republic County, Kansas, and then move to Decatur County, Kansas for a few years. By 1890 the family is living around Fairfield in Clay County, Nebraska. By 1930, she and her husband have moved to Burrton, Kansas to be close to their daughter and son-in-law, Valeria and Dr. William S. Hayes.

I have been told by family that Lizzie's death on 28 Dec 1927 was the result of a falling off a porch and hitting her head while visiting family in Nelson, Nuckolls, Nebraska. I cannot confirm this is what happened.
