Sarah A. Novinger was born in Dauphin county, Pennsylvania, March 20, 1845. Moved with her parents to Mercer county Pennsylvania at which place she was united in married to Henry H. Hoffman on August 6th 1863.
In 1872 she with her husband came to Republic county Kansas and settled on the farm where they have since resided until the time of her death.
To this union eleven children were born, three having passed on before her. She became a member of the church in her girlhood and has since lived a christian life, and died in the triumph of a living faith Sept. 23rd 1906, aged 61 years, 6 months and 3 days.
Funeral services at Friends church September 25th after which the remains were followed to their last resting place by many sympathizing friends who are dipped in sorrow and sympathy with the bereaved family.
They have lost a loving mother, the husband a true devoted wife, the 8 brothers and sisters an affectionate sister and we all a loving friend.
In her days of severe suffering she left to loved ones the sweet assurance of being ready when the master said "tis enough."
She is buried at Mill Creek cemetery northeast of Cuba, Kansas.
