(1915 - 2005)

Dorothy E. Habermann, age 89, formerly of Nile's Road, Valders, and a current resident of Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, died Sunday morning, Feb. 20, 2005, at the nursing home.

Dorothy was born Sept. 3, 1915 in Collins, daughter of the late Gustave and Clara (Baryenbruch) Valleskey. She attended Collins school and graduated from Reedsville High School. On June 25, 1938 she married William Habermann at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Collins. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1996. Dorothy farmed with her husband in rural Valders all her life. She was a member of the Nile's Homemakers and St. Peter's Ladies Aid, enjoyed working in her garden, playing cards and shaking dice with her family and friends. Dorothy especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Eljein Haese of rural Chilton, Diane and Jerome Lau of rural Reedsville and Sandra and Richard Reindl of rural Valders; seven grandchildren, Brian (Jodi) Haese of rural Brillion, Brenda (Rick) Voight of Brillion, Bev (Don) Master of Robinsdale, Minn., Bridgette (Mark) Master of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Brad Haese of rural Chilton; Jenny (Paul) Nowak of Waukesha; Glen Reindl of Stevens Point; 11 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan and Bethany Haese, Jessie, Amy and Chase Master, Stefanie and Dylan Voight, William and Emily Nowak and Trevor Cavanaugh; five step great-grandchildren; Craig, Kevin and Kate Voight and Dan and Kelly Wilda; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold and Charlotte Valleskey of Manitowoc, Robert and Olive Valleskey of Kiel, Kenny and Elsie Valleskey of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Valleskey of Mesa, Ariz., and Valeria Valleskey of Brillion; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, the Rev. Elwood and Linda Habermann of Texas; a special friend, Anita Jochmann; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to Dorothy's parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Deloris and Norman Vorpahl; three brothers, Milton Valleskey, Orville Valleskey and Donald Valleskey; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roland and Verna Haberman and Ray and Viola Habermann.

Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb 26, at St. Peter�s Lutheran Church in Collins. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert Hankewitz with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum on Monday, Feb 28. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at church from 3 p.m. until the time of service.

A special thank you to Willowdale Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Mom the nine years she was a resident. Also a special thank you to Affinity Hospice Services.

The Christianson and Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Valders, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
