Maggie was the 12th and last child of Charles Guerrant and Mary "Polly" Spencer. She came to Walker County, Texas before Jun 1855. She married first Benjamin Franklin Baldwin, Sr. on 10 Feb 1859. Franklin and Maggie had only one child - Benjamin Franklin Baldwin, Jr. - before Franklin's death at the age of only 33.

Franklin and Maggie were likely married in Limestone County as they were living on the Limestone-Leon county line one year later in the 1860 census. A marriage license has not been found. Since the Leon and Walker County marriage records are seemingly complete and the Limestone records only date to the 1870's because of a courthouse fire in 1873, it can be presumed they were married in Limestone County and the license copy was destroyed in the fire.

Maggie married second Edward G. Hamilton on 04 Jan 1870 in Walker County, Texas.

She served as Postmistress at the McAdams post office in Walker County, Texas, between 25 Feb 1892 and 03 May 1901.

Late in life Maggie went to live in Bedias, Texas with her granddaughter Mary Beatrice Baldwin (wife of James Franklin McAdams). The weather was so bad the day she died they were unable to take her to McAdams cemetery for burial (where her first husband Franklin was buried), so she was buried in the Baptist Cemetery in Bedias, Texas.
