David Altena, 76, ofRock Valley died Wednesday, July 26, 1995, at Valley Manor al Rock Valley.
Services were Saturday at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Roger Sparks officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
Mr. Altena was bom Oct. 17, 1918, in Ireton, the son of Henry and Effie (Broek) Altena. He married Johanna Vanden Berg Feb. 14,1941, in Rock Valley.
The couple farmed south of Rock Valley until moving to a farm near Luveme, MN in 1948.
They returned to Rock Valley in 1962 where he drove a gravel truck for Rock Valley Cement, Block and Tile for many years.
He had been a resident of Valley Manor since Jan. 31,1994.
Survivors include his wife; four brothers, Sam of George, Marvin of Pinestone, MN, Dick of Ireton and Louis of Rock Vidley, and two sisters, Mrs. James (Julia) Blankespoor of South Holland. IL. and Mrs. Ray (Marlene) Te Slaa ol Rock Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William.
