He married Ida McCormick on March 17, 1888, in Barry County. Survivors include his wife and 13 children, Alvin, Rebecca, Alma, Arthur, David, Jesse, Martha, Lydia, Riley, William, Aaron, Noah, Osten, and Marshall. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
