Jasper C. Duncan, 69, of Springfield, was fatally injured yesterday when a roof on which he was working at the International Vermiculite Co. plant, Springfield, caved in, causing him to fall about twenty feet. Duncan and his brother-in-law had the contract for reroofing the building and were engaged in this task when the accident happened.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife, Jessie; sister, Mary A. Duncan of Springfield.
He was born and reared near Springfield. For many years he was employed in St. Louis by the Missouri Pacific railroad. He returned to this city about six years ago to engage in the carpenter trade.
