Wife 1st of (unknown) Cole

Wife 2nd of Floyd G. Hall

Flossie Vandeveer was born in Monmoth, Warren County, Illinois, Oct. 22, 1881 and died at her home in LaCrosse, Kansas, February 11, 1929 at the age of 47 years, 3 months and 19 days.

When she was two years old, she moved with her parents to Stella, Nebraska, where she grew to womanhood, taking advantage of the educational and church facilities of the community.

Her marriage to Mr. Floyd G. Hall took place March 1, 1913 in Joplin, Missouri. They moved to LaCrosse two years later and have resided in this city ever since.

Mrs. Hall was a charter member of the Auxiliary to the American Legion, the local post of the American Legion, being named for her brother, Glen S.T. Vandeveer, who was the first Rush County boy to give his life for his county in the World War.

She was also an active member of the local Pythian Sisters order and in all community and church activities, she was always ready and willing to do her part.

For more than a year she had been in poor health and the last of three months of her life were months of pain and suffering. Never, however, did she forgo a smile. Up until the last, her kindly disposition and thoughtfulness for others were her outstanding characteristics. Her going was like the setting of the sun--full of light and glory, yet quiet and peaceful.

To mourn her departure, she leaves her husband; a son, Fenton; a stepson, Harold; a step daughter, Mrs. Ross Patterson of Winfall, Indiana; her father, L.P. Vandeveer and a brother.

Funeral services were held from the Federated Church at LaCross yesterday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. B.C.Wolf conducted the services. The floral offerings, many coming from friends at a distance, were numerous and beautiful. Interment was made in the LaCross cemetery.

Among the out of town relatives and friends, who were here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Vandeveer of Auburn, Nebraska and Mrs. Winterhalter and daughter, Wilma of Hutchinson.
