MRS. SYLVESTER ALLEN
Born at Mt. Morris, Mich., Oct, 1858, married to Sylvester Allen of the same place May 14, 1877, going to Mont Rose, Mich., where they made home till 1893 when they moved to Clare, Mich. Which is her home at the present time. Mrs. Allen was a beautiful character. All who knew her loved her. Devoted to her home and family, her life was like the sunshine warming and cheering all who came within reach of its glow. Although not a member of any church, she was a Christian from girlhood which her life fully demonstrated.
Beside her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Axford of Charlotte, Mrs. Nelson Tiedeman of Farwell, and one son Aaron of Clare, to regret and mourn her loss. The funeral was held Tuesday, at 2:00, from the home H.W. Bard officiating. (The Clare Sentinel – Clare, Michigan – 22 January 1920)
