Irene Vargulich Bronoel, 81 formerly of Girard, died Tuesday March 1, 2005, at Sarah Reed Retirement Center. She was born June 11, 1923, in Beatty Works, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Effie Hotra Vargulich. She attended the Rice Avenue Union High School in Girard and worked for Gunnison Bros. Tannery and Marx Toys in Girard. She later worked for the Erie County Geriatric Center (now Pleasant Ridge Manor) as a Nurses Assistant, where she retired from. Her main priority in life was to take care of her family. She was a devoted wife mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard, and enjoyed walking, music and dancing. She was preceded in death by four sisters Helen Senyo, Anna Komisarski, Mary Dohanic, and Pauline Hudacky, also by two brothers John Vargulich, who was killed in Action in Normandy in WWII and Mike Vargulich; also by two grandsons Gary R. Carlson Jr. and Robert L. Carlson. She is survived by her husband Lloyd N. Bronoel, whom she married September 6, 1947 in Erie also by three daughters Sandra I. Carlson and her husband Gary of Girard, Sharon L. Noble and her husband Al of Girard, Joyce A. Smith and her husband Howard of Lake City; a sister Effie Hudacky of Cranesville; two brothers Charles "Chuck" Vargulich and his wife Marilyn of Girard, Paul Vargulich of Erie; six grandchildren Edward C. Carlson Jr., Lyndsey I. Noble Baker, Erik A. Carlson, Christopher Noble, Melissa R. Carlson Yost, Brett M. Smith; three great grandchildren Robert Ryan Yost, Brady Allen Baker and Gabriel Seth Baker. Friends may call on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard, Independent Care Group Affiliate. A prayer service will be held there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Girard at 10 a.m., officiated by Rev. William O'Brien. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.
