Grover was a retired farmer. On March 17, 1915 he married Ella Sarah James in Breckenridge, MO. Their children were: Ruth Lorraine Boone, Dorothy Mae Critten, Lula Verlea Smith, Mary Jane Campbell, Delores Lockridge, Mack Donald, Fred Russell, and Pat Isaac.
He was blessed with 29 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
