Negro Drowns in Pool Early Sunday While Fishing
Roamie Christian, 33-years old negro, drowned in Halsell pool on the Halsell ranch northwest of Bonham early Sunday morning. It was the first drowning death in the county this year.
Christian who with Gene Jackson, was fishing in a boat on the pool, was rescued a short time later but efforts at artificial respiration failed.
Christian was standing up in the boat when he mad a cast and lost his balance, falling into the water. the line became tangled around his legs and he sank in the deep part of the pool.
