He was a lifelong resident of Putnam County. He began work with Wilson Cypress Lumber Co. He later became a commercial fisherman and the river became his second home where he was one of the first as a sports fishing guide. It was his life and love.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maude G. Moody.
Survivors are his daughters, Geneva Knight of Satsuma, Nona Matson and husband, Edwin of Palatka; sons, Norman Moody and wife, Mary June of Federal Point, Larry Moody and Ray Moody of Satsuma; sister, Lonie Hebert of Palatka; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Friday, 3 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 1 Apr 1999.)
