In 1888, Adolphus married Eula Bell "Bell" Hooper, daughter of Thomas M and Mary A (Pope) Hooper. Together, they had ten children:
Bessie Abell Queen (1889-1971)
Mary C Queen (1891-________)
Thomas L Queen (1892-________)
Samie Maud Queen (1893-________)
Hugh Queen (1895-1954)

Fannie G Queen (1898-________)

By the 1900 census, the family was living west of Central Avenue in Calera, Shelby, Alabama, and Adolphus was working as a telegraph lineman.
Bell passed away on Jun 15, 1907, and is buried in the Queen Cemetery off Queens Mill Road in Cobb County, Georgia. Adolphus was left with ten children, the youngest 1 and the eldest 17.
By the 1910 census, Adolphus had moved to Cedartown, Polk, Georgia, where he worked as a linesman for the telegraph company. He had remarried. His new bride was Beulah Alberta "Berta" Hackney of Cedartown. This marriage produced five additional children:
Margaret Louise Queen (1911-1987)
Lillian Floriede Queen (1912-2000)
Evelyn Jo Queen (1914-1983)
Frank Pershing Queen (1918-1918)
Caroline Sue Queen (1922-2003)
Adolphus's parents, Samuel and Cynthia, were caring for nine of Bell's and Adolphus's children. Bessie, the eldest, had married.
By 1920, Adolphus was working as a lineman for Western Union. By then, he and Berta had three living children of their own and had lost one. Two of Berta's step-children were also living with them, Adophus (17) and Welch (14). The young Adolphus was working in farming at the time. Two other children, Bessie Pittman and Fannie, were staying in Atlanta with their mother, Cynthia Queen; Samuel passed in 1814.
Adolphus died on Mar 8, 1923, in Cedartown, Polk, Georgia, and is buried with Berta in the Greenwood Cemetery there.
