Mildred Trently Kepping, 92, of 50 Mill Mountain Road, Drums, and formerly of Maple Drive, Sugarloaf, died on Wednesday evening at her home following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hazleton on May 10, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Albert J. and Emma (Gicking) Wagner, and spent her entire life in the area.
She was a graduate of Hazleton High School and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton.
Prior to her marriage, Mil­dred worked at the Duplan Silk Mill. She then worked in the jewelry department of Gaylord's at the Church Hill Mall, Hazleton, and was last employed as manager of the ladies department at the for­mer Zayre Department Store, Laurel Mall, Hazleton.
She was a loving mother who was dedicated to her family and enjoyed spending her leisure time solving word puzzles.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her first husband, Joseph Trently; her second husband, Harry L. Kepping; daughters, Jane Carol Trently, Barbara Jane Trently and Debra Trent­ly; granddaughters, Courtney Justofin and Karen Doney Grove; brothers, Allen Wagner and Carl E. Wagner; and sis­ters, Pearl Goldsworthy and Emily Zeisloft.
Surviving are daughters, Joyce E. Minnick and her hus­band, Gordon, Drums; June Midway, her principle care­giver with whom she lived for the past seven years; Mildred "Chickie" Doney, Drums; Kathleen A. Manyko and her husband, Nicholas, Hazleton; and Joanne Justofin and her husband, Jack, Sugarloaf. Also surviving are grandchildren, Richard Minnick, Vicki Zenier, Cindy Betterly, Danielle Schrader, Michele Baranows­ki, Nicholas Manyko Jr., Stacey Manyko, Nicole Manyko, Phillip C. Veet and Holly Lasecki; 19 great-grand­children; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and beloved family pets, Pede, Skylar and Schmedley; and step-children and their fami­lies.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Butler Chapel of Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 530 W. Butler Drive, Drums, where her pastor, the Rev.
Wayne Lupole, will preside.
Burial will take place in St.
Johns Lutheran and United Church of Christ Cemetery, St. Johns.
Friends may call at the Butler Chapel today from 7 to 9 p.m.
