At two o'clock Tuesday afternoon funeral services were conducted at Dunton's Funeral Chapel for Mrs. William A. Johnson of this city who passed away late Sunday following a long illness. Rev. George C. Fenscke of the M. E. Church officiated, and appropriate musical selections were rendered by Mrs. R. S. Weber and the Misses Aileen Sanborn and Emily Schlick.

Wm. Kelm, Carl Binder, G. B. Cossairt, Wm. Hoeft, Kurt Robbins and H. O. Bluhm acted as pallbearers, and burial was made beside Mrs. Johnson's first husband, Joseph Enfield, in the local cemetery. Out of town attendants at the service were her two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Cheney of St. Paul and Mrs. Clarence Van Sickle of Mankato, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Mortensen of Robbinsdale, Mrs. and Mrs. Chas. Ellwood of Glenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ward of Hankinson, N. D. and Mr. and Mrs. William Ellwood of Glenwood. All of the children were present for the funeral except Mrs. Bessie McCann.

Mrs. Johnson, nee Lovina Derby, was born in Garden City, Minn., on June 28, 1855. She grew up in Vernon Center and later moved to Rapidan with her parents. In 1874 she was united in marriage to Joseph Enfield, and to this union four children were born, two sons and two daughters. The family lived on a farm near Eden Valley for several years and later moved to Paynesville. Mr. Enfield died in May 1919.

In 1925 Mrs. Enfield and William A. Johnson were married, and they made their home in Mr. Johnson's residence in the west part of town. The deceased lady was a member of the Christian Church at Eden Valley.
