NAMPA—William Welker, 81, of 132 High Street, died Tuesday in a Nampa hospital following a brief iIllness.
Born April 24, 1881 at Packertown, Ind., he married Cora Ethel Perry Dec. 6, 1902. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 6, 1962.
Following their marriage, they resided in Indiana for a short time before moving to Cambridge, Neb., where they made their home for 18 years. They later moved to Nampa where Mr. Welker engaged in farming for several years. During the later years he engaged in painting and retired at the age of 80.
Surviving are his wife of Nampa; four daughters, Mrs. Bee Hartman of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Juanita Stuart, Mrs. Beulah Mitchell and Mrs. Doris Wissell, all of Nampa; two sons, William F. and Robert P. Welker, both of Nampa; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Gilbert of Logansport, Ind.; 11, grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Evelyn Welker, in 1943.
Services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Friday at Alsip Chapel with Rev. Lyle Roth officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest.
