Barton Stevens was born on February 15, 1933 to Benjamin and Henrietta Stevens in Minneapolis.
He was united in marriage to Rosemary M. Boyer on October 10, 1953 in Wadena. Bart began his service in the United States Army in 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955.
He lived in the Wadena area for 65 years, and worked as a crane operator and traveled over two million miles as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed operating ham radios, remote-control airplanes, and being a pilot. He shared his humor by playing jokes on family and friends, and his latest pastime enjoyment was feeding the squirrels and deer.
Bart was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Henrietta; twin brother Joe; sister Buena Monroe; and grandson Benjamin Stevens.
Left to survive him are his devoted wife Rosemary; sons Benjamin (Brenda) Stevens of Granada, and Jeffrey (Collette) Stevens of Deer Creek; daughters Pam (Ken) Jenson of Wadena, Diane (Greg) Moen of Fridley, Deb Stevens of Willow Park, TX, Jackie (John) Rowe of Pierce, NE, Nancy (Alan) Reed of Fremont, IA and Jill (Steve) Becker of Centennial CO; and 18 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of Bart's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Military honors will be provided by the Elmer Goche Post 3922, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Wadena, MN. Burial will be in Wadena Cemetery.
