Son of Jack Leo Brummond and Nellie Edna Leonard Brummond. He was less than a year old, when his mother died. He was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Dutch and Vivian Leonard of South Sioux City, NE.
He served in the Army.
According to his taxi drivers permit, he was 5'11", green eyes, and weighed 180 lbs.
He had 2 daughters and one son.

Eugene R. Leonard, 49, of Sioux City, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996, shortly after arrival at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Tomnlinson pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until the service. The body will be cremated following the service.

Mr. Leonard was born April 17, 1947 in Sioux City to Jack L. and Nellie E. (Leonard) Brummond. His mother died in 1947, and he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Marion and Vivin Leonard in 1948. He was raised in South Sioux City. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division and was a taxi-cab driver. He married Cathy McKnight on May 10, 1971 in Sloan, Iowa.

Survivors include one son, Robert James of Carlisle, Iowa; one daughter LaVonne Renee' Meastas of Guthrie Center, Iowa; three brothers and their wives, Bill and Bev Brummond of South Sioux City, Jim and Barb Brummond of Sioux City, and Robert and Norda Brummond of Nolanville, Texas.
