HANNIBAL - Mary Virginia Schuessler, 89, of Hannibal, died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, May 11, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Schuessler was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Hannibal to Frank C. and Mabel E. Fields Moss.
She was married to Charles Kelsay in 1929 in Hannibal. He preceded her in death in 1951. She later married Glen F. Schuessler on July 2, 1960, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Doris Summers of Nashville, Tenn., Mabel Charlene Rickey and Shirley Major Smith, both of Hannibal, and Betty Jennings (Bill) of Idabel, Okla.; one son, Charles Kelsay of Matthews, N.C.; one stepson, Dr. John Schuessler of Littleton, Colo.; one sister, Darlene Wiegriff of Louisville, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Carla Kelsay; 37 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Raymond Foubester of Hannibal.
Mrs. Schuessler was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Moss and Raymond Moss; one grandson, Jimmy Summers; and two great-great-grandsons, Donnie Wayne Rickey and Danny Dewayne Rickey.
Mrs. Schuessler was owner and operator of Virginia's Beauty Salon for many years. She was a member of Clover Road Christian Church. She was also active in the Ladies of the Moose, where she held many positions. She was a lady of the Shrine and a member of the American Legion.
Pallbearers will be Donald Rickey, Gene Majors, David Hinds, Pat Patrick, Kenneth Majors, Kevin Rickey, Charles Rickey and Jeff Hinds.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Hinds, Zach Hinds, Chad Majors, Anthony Majors, Jared Majors, Ryan Howe, Cory Howe, Kevin Rickey Jr., Charles Rickey Jr., Bradley Rickey, Gary Rickey, Eddie Jones and Lance Quinlin.
