HANNIBAL - Shirley A. Majors Smith, 67, of Hannibal, died at 6:21 p.m. Saturday, Jan 1, 2005, in Luther Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 4, at Grand View Burial Park. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Grand View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 20, 1937, in Hannibal to Charles and Mary Virginia Moss Kelsay.
She was married to Harold Majors in 1954. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Majors and Kenneth Majors, both of Hannibal; three sisters, Charlene Rickey of Hannibal, Betty Jennings of Idabel, Okla., and Doris Summers of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Charles Kelsay of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Jeanene Ruedas-Martinez, Jared Majors, Anthony Majors, Chad Majors, Scott Majors, Amy Majors, Carey Hodson, Mandy Hoskins and Justin Hoskins; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was a retired nurse, who had worked for St. Elizabeth's Hospital as well as many area nursing homes. She had also worked for Mark Twain Area Counseling Center. During her life she was an avid antique and coin collector and was a coin auctioneer. A special love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jared Majors, Anthony Majors, Chad Majors, Scott Majors, Justin Hoskins and Larry Hodson Jr.
