Joseph Henry Fessler, 62, of School Hill, passed away suddenly Monday afternoon at this home.
Born December 16, 1885, in the town of Eaton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Fessler, he attended the public schools and in 1903 moved with his parents to a farm in the town of Meeme. He was married to Edna Langenhahn of the town of Meeme on April 15, 1914, and they operated a hotel in School Hill for 18 years and then operated a feed mill there until his retirement in 1940.
Survivors are his widow; two children, Alfred and Mrs. Harvey (Lillian Schnell of School Hill; four brothers, Anton, Carl and George of St. Nazianz and Frank of School Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Brost of Sheboygan and Mrs. Mathilda Brost of School Hill; three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at St. James Evangelical and Reformed church at Spring Valley with the Rev. Carl Schmahl officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
