Viola's parents were Lydia Christine Neilsen and John Edward Jensen. She was born in Chino, California and lived mostly in Willows, Glenn Co. California. During the war she and her friend Francis Kersh worked the airbases, ribitting on the aircraft. She married first to George Geary Hankins and had five children. LaVee Ernestine b 13 Feb 1947,(her twin died at birth) Georgie Ann b 2 Mar 1948, Lenna Christine b 24 Feb 1950 and Eugene Ray b 19 Jul 1952. George and Viola divorced in 1961 and she remarried to Al Miller.
Viola's brothers and sisters were Dorthy Jensen Waymire m Harold Rhinehart, Thelma Jensen m Joseph Casella, John Jensen m Ida Casella, LaVee Jensen m Mansweaty and she is buried in Roseville, Calif., Roy Jensen m several times. He is buried in Medincino, Calif., Arthur Jensen m Betty Rodgers. Arthur and Betty live in Washington. John and Ida are buried in Willows, Calif. as are their parents. Ida and Joe Casella were brother and sister. Thelma and Joe are scattered over Soldier Mt. in Shasta County, Fall River Mills, Calif. as are their two sons, John Casella and Joseph Kenneth Casella.
Viola was a strong willed and loving Mother and friend. Her gentle nature was only surpassed by the whispering of the winds. I love her beyond words. She raised her children alone after 1961 and had a way of teaching us with love. What she knew, she taught us. She knitted masterpieces with her knitting needles, always taking first prize at any fair she entered.
Her remains will rest with her daughter Georgie Ann in Biggs, Calif.
