Generose H. Bartels, age 75, of 1518 Marshall St., Manitowoc, entered eternal life late on Saturday evening, Dec. 13, 2008, at her residence, with her family by her side.
Generose was born on May 3, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Andrew
and Loretta (Schamburek) Ebert Sr. On July 28, 1953, she married Donald L. Bartels Sr., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1992. Generose had been employed at Mirro Aluminum from where she retired January of 1993. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Manitowoc Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Bartels Sr., on June 15, 1992; one grandson: Scott Keery, on Dec. 14, 1995; three sisters in infancy; three brothers: Kenneth, Jerome and Andrew Ebert Jr.; one sister-in-law: Delores Bartels; and two brothers-in-law: Frederick Haelfrisch and Charles Biely.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (TODAY) at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Daniel Felton. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday (TODAY) from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m., with the procession following to St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall for the services being held at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to a memorial fund being established in Generose's name. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
