EDWARD ROHDE

Edward Rohde, 94, of 8638 Northeim La., Newton, died Sunday at Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
11 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. The Rev. Charles Mocco
will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rohde was born Aug. 2, 1882, at Manitowoc, son of the late Martin and
Mary Welnoch Rohde. He was a lifelong Manitowoc County resident and married
Anna Siewert Nov. 25, 1908, at St. Casimir Church. Mr. Rohde was one of the
founders and elected to the board of directors of Newton State Bank in 1923.
He served as its president from 1923 to 1962 and continued as a member of
the board of directors until 1970. He was also owner of Lakeshore Dairy of
Newton, founded by the Rohde family in 1884, past member of Knights of
Columbus Council 710 and Holy Name Society of St. Casimir Church. Mrs. Rohde
preceded him in death in April of 1965.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Ruth) Andrews, of La Mesa,
Calif., and Miss Felicia Rohde, of Newton; a sister, Mrs. Helen Kuffel, of
Manitowoc; a grandson, Maj. Andrew E. Andrews, of West Point, N.Y., and three
great granddaughters, Marissa, Margaret Ann and Michelle. Three sons, John,
Ralph and Gerard; five brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, where a
memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
