GERTRUDE S. FISCHER

Gertrude S. Fischer, age 84, of 120 Dewey St., Brillion, died on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1923, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frederick and Lydia (Stelling) Hagenow. She attended school in Reedsville. On June 26, 1943, Gertrude married Elroy J. Fischer at Zion United Methodist Church in Reedsville. Gertrude was a farmer and housewife. She was a member of Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church, Potter, where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Frederick and Lydia Hagenow; two sisters: Lucille Hagenow and Dorothy Fiedler; four brothers: Christ, Hilary, Frederick, and Clyde Hagenow; and one granddaughter: Beth Durkee.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church in Potter. The Rev. Marc Axelrod will officiate. Entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and then at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
