PATTON — LITZINGER – Roy R., 62, Klondike Road, Patton, died March 29, 2011, at home. Born April 28, 1948, in Spangler, son of Warren and Lela (Hilbig) Litzinger. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Margaret Paterno and Rosemarie Bailey; and brother, James Litzinger. Survived by loving wife of 36 years, Dorothy (Gongloff) Litzinger; sons, Ronald Litzinger, married to the former Sharon Overberger, Northern Cambria; and Craig Litzinger, Patton; and grandchildren, Tavish McConnell and Kaden and Augusta Litzinger. Brother of Bernard Litzinger, North Carolina; Patricia Stoltz, Fairview, Pa.; and Janet Baker, Patton. Also survived by his in-laws and several nieces and nephews. Roy retired from a career in the U.S. Army. He was later employed by Cambria Co-Gen, Ebensburg. Roy formerly served as president of John White VFW 779, Patton. Member of American Legion Post 614, Patton; American Legion Post 506, Carrolltown; Carrolltown Firemen's Club; and several other area clubs. Roy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, football and a good argument. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Committal, Fairview Cemetery, Patton. Graveside military honors by local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roy's memory to charity of choice.
