LESLIE C. GAUTHIER

Leslie C. Gauthier, age 78, of Two Rivers, died early Tuesday morning Oct. 2, 2001 at the Aurora Medical Center Two Rivers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 20Ol at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Edward Stelter, with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion & V.F.W. Posts.

Les was born May 7, 1923 in Two Rivers, son of the late David "Kelly" and Wanda Petrashek Gauthier. He attended public grade school and Vocational School in Two Rivers. On Dec. 29, 1942 he entered the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He was a member of the 252 nd Battalion Hdqts. Co., serving in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge. Les worked as a field lineman and received numerous metals(sic). He was honorably discharged from service on Feb. 9, 1946. On July 1, 1972 he was married to Harriet Mandel in Two Rivers. Les was employed for a number of years at the Metal Ware Corp. in Two Rivers, and later with Hamilton Mfg. Co., retiring in 1988. Mr. Gauthier served on the church council of Our Savior Lutheran Church for many years; he also volunteered many hours at the church. Les played a number of instruments, playing publicly for many years with the "Melody Makers". He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed woodworking and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Manitowoc County Fish & Game Assoc.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Harvey and Russel Gauthier.

Relatives and friends may call at St. John's Lutheran Church, Two Rivers after 11 a.m. on Friday until the time of service at 1 p.m. There will be no visitation this evening. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers is assisting the Gauthier family with funeral arrangements.

The Gauthier family extends a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Loomans, and the entire staff of the I.C. U of Aurora Medical Center for the loving care and kindness given to Les.
