Bernice M. Herrmann, age 90, a former Francis Creek resident, died Friday evening Sept. 7, 2007, at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The former Bernice Lorenz was born Aug. 15, 1917, in the town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Emil and Laura Hickey Lorenz. She grew up in the Francis Creek area and was a 1935 graduate of Manitowoc's Lincoln High School. On June 13, 1939, Bernice was married to Joseph F. Herrmann at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Joe preceded her in death on April 7, 1996. In the past, Bernice worked as a waitress at Drees restaurant and later for Lorenz's Restaurant in Francis Creek. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Anne Altar Society and the Francis Creek-Rockwood Senior Citizens. Bernice enjoyed playing cards and craftwork.

She was preceded in death by four sisters: Dorothy Benzinger, Helen Chaloupka, Ruth Reinke and Priscella Cerminara; five brothers: Wayne Lorenz, Ray Lorenz, Elmer Lorenz, Edward Lorenz and Richard Lorenz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday Sept. 10, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow at the Knollwood Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is serving the Herrmann family.
A special thanks to the staff of Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care given to Mom during her stay there.
