Militia captain in the 3rd Company, Cartwright Volunteers, 45th Battalion, West Durham Regiment. As a civilian we worked as a Divisional Court Clerk, as well as operating a saw mill and a grist mill. He retired wealthy, living at 344 and 444 King St. West in downtown Toronto until the day of his death in 1894.
