Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Mary R. Carter age, 85, one time resident of Anniston of many years, passed away Tuesday in Birmingham, where she had made her home for some time.
Mrs. Carter had spent most of her life in Anniston before moving to Birmingham to live with her daughters there.
She is the mother of R.B. Carter and Mrs. D.C. Perryman of this city.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lena Cochran and Mrs. Charles Stewart of Birmingham and Mrs. Perryman of Anniston; sons, Mr. Stewart of Anniston, W.E. of Quiltman, Ga., J. L. of Oklahoma, and B.H of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Mrs. Alice Davis of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Lillie Messenger of Portland, Oregon; brothers, Jeff Roberts and Joe Roberts of Bowden, Ga.; 50 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
