Marc was born on July 22, 1981 in Herkimer, NY and moved to Naples at an early age. Marc graduated from St. John Neumann Catholic High School in 1999 and from Edison State College in 2002.
He was so moved by the tragedy of September 11, 2001, that he enlisted in the Army. Prior to his deployment to Afghanistan on December 7, 2012, Marc served his first tour of duty in Iraq from 2007 thru 2008 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Marc and his wife, Kara were stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA when Marc deployed to Afghanistan.
Marc is survived by his wife, Kara Lee Scialdo; his parents, Marshall A. and Susan E. (nee Oldfield) Scialdo, Jr. of Naples, FL; two sisters, Claudine E. Ehlers and her husband, Richard of Naples, FL and Jacqueline C. Nelson and her husband, Specialist Rodney J. Nelson, US Army of Anchorage, AK; one brother, David V. Scialdo and his wife, Ashley of Naples, FL. He also leaves behind his niece and nephews, William R. Harvey, Alexis V. Ehlers, River Nelson, Jake A. Scialdo, and Henry C. Scialdo, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, In-laws and friends.
A Wake will be held on March 21, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Parish Life Center at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church 28290 Beaumont Rd. Bonita Springs, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 625 111th Ave. No, Naples, FL with Very Rev. John J. Ludden, Pastor, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Palm Royale Cemetery 6780 Vanderbilt Beach Rd., Naples, FL. 34119.
