Mr. Koenig was born November 29, 1947, in Sheboygan, son of Evelyn Hoefler Koenig and the late Robert Koenig. He attended Kiel High School, and served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
On December 9, 1970, he married Mary Hei at Chilton. They resided in Kiel for one year before moving to their present home in the town of Schleswig where they resided for the past 14 years.
He was employed at Tecumseh Products, Inc. before going to Associated Fur Farm of rural New Holstein.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Louis Corners.
Survivors include this wife; three daughters, Dann, Sonia, Heidi, and one son, Shawn, all at home; his mother, Evelyn Koenig, St. Nazianz; four brothers, Daniel, School Hill; Richard, Cascade; Dennis, and Keith, both of rural Kiel; and two sisters, Mrs. Judy Bratz, Collins; Mrs. Pam Bratz, School Hill.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Knollwood Memorial Chapel in rural Manitowoc, with the Rev. Adalbert Schultz, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Entombment followed the services.
Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel took care of arrangements.
