Sarah was the daughter of John and Mary Ella Dunn O'Brien. Her father was most likely born in County Wicklow, Johnstown, Ire. in about 1819. Her mother Mary may have been born in County Wicklow as well. Sarah's father passed away and the family seems to have moved to Eng. Her mother remarried a McCabe and they had one son, Peter, born in England. This unknown McCabe evidently passed away and Mary moved her family to the U.S in 1856. They settled in Clayton Co., IA. where Sarah married Charles Weck in 1858. Sarah's sibblings were Bridget, Thomas, John, MaryAnn O'Brien and Peter McCabe.
