John Chalupny, 87, retired Town of Gibson farmer, of Rt. 1, Mishicot, died at the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital Thursday morning where he had been a patient for more than a month.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Klein & Stangel Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills, the Rev. Rudolph Kerch officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining parish cemetery.
Mr. Chalupny was born in Bohemia on June 23, 1867, a son of the late Wenzel and Catherine Shedevy Chalupny. When he was 15 years old, he came to this country with the family, settling on a farm in the Town of Gibson, where he had resided since. On July 5, 1887, he married Catherine Zachek at Tisch Mills. She preceded him in death four years
ago.
Surviving Mr. Chalupny are three daughters, Mrs. Frank Lishka, Mrs. Joseph Lishka, and Mrs. William Damman of Manitowoc; a son, Frank Chalupny, operating the home farm; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
For a number of years, Mr. Chalupny served as secretary of St. Mary Catholic parish at Tisch Mills.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday.
