Jermaine C. Moldenhauer Ashford, age 89, a resident of Harmony of Manitowoc West, died on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Harmony.
Jermaine was born on September 18, 1923 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Harry and Clara (Stelzer) Streich. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. Jermaine married James Moldenhauer on May 11, 1944 in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1965. She later married Mason L. Ashford on December 14, 1967. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2002. Jermaine was an interior designer for many years with Lulloff Furniture. She spent 15 years residing in Florida until the death of her husband Mason, when she moved back to Manitowoc to be with her family.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Jeri Lynn and Charles Koch, Manitowoc; two daughters-in-law: Barbara Moldenhauer, Manitowoc and Charlotte Moldenhauer, Valders; 12 grandchildren: Stacey and Bart Medina, Cory and Sherry Koch, Melissa and Don Robinson Jr., Jordan Koch, Jamie and Kristopher Hansen, Brent Moldenhauer, Travis and Anna Moldenhauer, Lyndzee and Dan Schaus, Curt and Catherine Moldenhauer, Cayce and Roman Marcos, Scott and Cara Kulas, Angie and Andy Birlev; 22 great grandchildren: Logan, Cheyenne, Logan, Dusty, Willie, Jesse (Katie), Tyler (Harley), Fallon, Brandon, Miranda, Lakyn, Zoe, Lukas, Fischer, Gauge, Ryder, Orion, Marley, Violet, Olivia, Robert James and Livia; 5 great great grandchildren: Alexis, Jacob, Anna, Mason, Camden; one sister: Ione Larson; one brother-in-law: Harold Vallesky; one step-son: Dan Ashford; two step-daughters: Shannon Ashford, Nancy (James) Mayfield; a very special niece: Jodi Rae Larson. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by two sons: James T. Moldenhauer on September 15, 2012 and Craig A. Moldenhauer on December 7, 2012; one great grandson: Owen; one sister: Charlotte; one brother-in-law: Rueben Larson; and one niece: Tammy Jo Vallesky.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Private family services were held and her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
