Clemens Kolb, well known blacksmith of the city, died at his home, at 1959 N. Fifth Street, this morning, following an illness of a years duration. He was 54 years and seven months old. Last September his illness became acute and he was operated on at Mayo Hospital in Rochester, Minn., securing a measure of relief, but his condition took a turn a few months ago, culminating in his death. His death is attributed to stomach trouble.
Mr. Kolb was born in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, October 15, 1867, and came to Sheboygan many years ago. He learned the blacksmith trade here and for a number of years was located on Calumet Drive. He was married in this city in 1895, to Miss Ida Greenawald. A few years later they removed to Paskin, Barron County, where they resided for sixteen years. They returned to Sheboygan seven years ago, and for five years Mr. Kolb was employed as a blacksmith at the C. Reiss Coal Company docks.
Besides his widow, Mr. Kolb is survived by five children, Clemens, Clarence, Wilma and Ida at home, and Mrs. A. F. Smith of Arthyde, Minn. He leaves eight brothers and five sisters also; Herman of Sheboygan Falls, Ernst of Barren, Louis of Thorp, William of Newton, Reinhold and Charles of this city and the following from Cleveland, Wis., Fred, Oscar, Mrs. Jacob Hetzel, Mrs. Gustav, Koellmer, Mrs. Paul Jose, Mrs. Herman Vogel, and Mrs. Leo Klessig.
The funeral services will be held from the home Monday afternoon, the Rev. W. M. Czamanske officiating and interment will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.
