JACOB GEIMER

Jake Geimer, 72, town of Two Rivers farmer, died Sunday morning at the Two Rivers Municipal hospital, following a stroke he suffered at his farm home Friday night.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Lukes Catholic church, Two Rivers, with burial in Holy Cross cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Klein and Stangel Inc. funeral home, Two Rivers, where the rosary will be recited at 7:45 Tuesday evening.

Mr. Geimer was born in Cooperstown in 1873 and in 1896 married Miss Mariana Gagnon and they located in Two Rivers, until he purchased a farm in the township in 1905. Mrs. Geimer died in 1941.

Mr. Geimer was active for years in the Rangeline creamery, serving as secretary-treasurer. The creamery went out of operation several years ago. He was also a member of the St. Joseph’s and Holy Name societies at St. Luke’s church, and served for a number of years as justice of the peace for the town of Two Rivers. He retired from active farming several years ago, but had continued to make his home with a son, Albert, who assumed operation of the home farm.

In addition to Albert, there are three other sons surviving: Urban of Two Rivers and William and Martin, both of Buffalo, N.Y.; seven daughters, Sister M. Candida of the Franciscan order at Silver Lake, recently a teacher at Escanaba, Mich., Mrs. Edward Grimm of route 1, Two Rivers, Mrs. A.N. Perry of Wilmette, Ill., Mrs. Louis Kortas of Manitowoc, Mrs. Harold Roehl of Janesville, Mrs. George Smith of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. Phillip Hanson of Two Rivers. There are two brothers, Max. P. of Manitowoc and Joseph of Mishicot; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Schmitt and Mrs. Cecelia Grunwald both of Two Rivers. There are 29 grandchildren.
