"Mary Kyser, nee Kempher was born July 15, 1832, and died Jan. 2, 1911, aged 78 years, 5 months and 17 days. The deceased was the daughter of Jacob and Margretta Kempher and was born in Northampton County, PA, and came with her parents to Wood County in the year 1830. She was married to David Kyser on the 10th day of November, 1850. To this union were born eleven children. Seven have preceded her to the great beyond. Those surviving are D.M. Kyser, of Latty; J.O. Kyser of Hensler, N. Dak; Mrs. Anna Shroyer, of Portage, and Mrs. Emma Rutter, of Deshler. Besides the children she leaves three brothers and two sisters, thirty grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors who mourn her loss.
She, with her husband, joined the Church of the Brethren early in life and lived faithful through health and sickness until death. Her husband preceded her to their long home four years ago. She bore her last sickness and pain patiently until the Angel of Death relieved and took her home."
